Music Hall Casino:

IMPORTANT REVIEW UPDATE: The owner of Music Hall casino has gone into liquidation. and this review will be updated as soon as we know more about what happens to the casino and it's customers. I am convinced that all affected players will be paid the money they have in their accounts (perhaps by the software provider Microgaming). I also predict that another group will take over the affected online casinos and poker rooms as this group has always had a good reputation among players. Obviously it is not possible to play at these casinos and poker rooms at the moment.

Music Hall Casino is a very loosely-themed casino powered by Microgaming. I say loosely themed, because apart from the odd picture of a musical instrument here and there it really is hard to see that there is a theme at all! To be honest though, I find themes pretty irrelevant when choosing a casino, and so to see how Music Hall Casino lives up to more important tests I decided it was time for a play and write a review.

Music Hall Casino is owned and operated by the Casino Action Group, and as such is part of a portfolio managed by a reputable operator. This is always a good start when choosing a casino - as always I advise players fully research a casino before parting with their money. Of course, only the most reputable online casinos are feature here at, and so any casino reviewed and recommended here is definitely top notch!

Like many Microgaming-powered casinos, Music Hall Casino can be played using a no-download interface (powered by Flash) or via a 'bells and whistles' download interface. While the no-download option is great for users who cannot download the initial files required (e.g. for those at an Internet Cafe or on a Mac), I always recommend the full download version. This is because this version provides access to every game available and also contains extra features not found in the Flash version. The initial download is actually 6.71mb in size, which is definitely manageable. Thankfully I have a broadband connection, and as such was able to download and install the casino in just a matter of minutes.

New players, as I indeed I was at the time of reviewing, must first sign up with the casino before they are able to enter the lobby. However, this is a quick and hassle-free process (unlike at some casinos in the real world!). A player simply has to provide personal details to the casino (via a friendly web-form) and they are then assigned an account number. Players can opt to test the casino in free mode as well as sign-up for 'real' play. Of course, it is only in real mode that a player can chance their luck of winning real cash prizes!

Microgaming-powered casinos are often well-respected in the online casino world, and are definitely up there with the best in terms of game quality and selection. In fact, the variety of games available at Music Hall definitely came as a pleasant surprise - over 120 according to the casino website, although I personally think this is actually a low estimate. Thankfully though, getting lost in the casino is not as easy as could be, thanks to the user-friendly lobby interface utilized. A preview function displays key game details - and with games grouped by type, it's actually relatively easy to find a specific game.

Naturally, with such a great selection of games, it would be strange for a player not to get sucked-in, and as such I immediately visited the casino cashier to make a deposit. As with many online casinos, Music Hall accepts a variety of deposit methods including the ever-popular NETeller. In fact, it was this option I went for when making a $100 deposit.

At this point, one thing I should mention is the sign-up scheme operated by Music Hall Casino - fans of bonus bucks will definitely like this! Basically, up to $500 can be claimed by all new players! This huge bonus is broken down to a 25% match on the first deposit (max $200 bonus), a 50% match up to $150 on a second deposit and a massive 100% match up to $150 on a third deposit! Of course, wagering conditions are attached, but for those looking to hit a jackpot these extra bonus dollars could definitely come in handy. Even better, these bonuses are added pretty much instantly - so a depositing player can start with a maximum advantage. Having said that, I actually decided to play without a bonus on this occasion - I wanted to be able to withdraw hassle-free if I was lucky enough to win!

As usual, I checked out a good selection of the table games available at Music Hall Casino to begin with. A great selection is available, offering pretty much every table game invented in an easy-to-access online format. A huge selection of Blackjack games are available, and even lesser-known table games such as Sic Bo and Pai Gow Poker are ready and waiting should a player choose. I personally had great fun at the Poker Ride table, but sadly wasn't able to grab the $111,000 progressive (although a couple of three-of-a-kinds kept me going). With most of the games accepting a wide range of bet amounts (BJ ranges from $0.50 to $500, for example), it really is easy to get lost in the games available.

Of course, for some people the real draw of a casino is the Video Poker machines available. For these people, Music Hall Casino will definitely appeal. A huge selection of machines is available, offering pretty much every paytable imaginable. Aces and 8's, for example, is a great machine, where landing either 4 Aces or 4 8's pays off a massive 400 coins! For those who really like to gamble, the multi-line machines are sure to please - many of the games available can be played across 4, 10, 50 and even 100 hands. I tried out a few of the different games available and although I didn't lose much, I didn't make myself rich either!

Having said that, I did find it hard to pull myself away from the Video Poker machines, even if I wasn't winning much. This is because I genuinely found Music Hall Casino to be great fun! The games utilizegreat graphics and a color scheme that I really liked. Some casinos can be too garish for me personally, but Music Hall Casino seems to have the balance just right. With many of the games utilizing top notch sound effects and voiceovers, it really is like having a play at Vegas without the negative of the hustle and bustle! This casino even has features to help a player win - something that would never be found in Vegas.

At this point in my play my balance was actually just over the $100 mark, although my balance had seen a few ups and downs at this stage! However, I wanted to really try and hit big - and as such decided to check out some of the great online slot games available.

One slot I decided to focus on this time round was one of the newer video slots available - Bush Telegraph. This jungle-themed game uses a classic 5-reel setup to display results and has 15 pay-lines. Assuming a player wanted to bet max on their spin, Bush Telegraph accepts bets ranging from a low of $0.75 to a maximum of a huge $75 per spin. With a top single-line win of 7,500 coins, I can definitely see the attraction of this game. However, the real fun comes in the form of 2 cool bonus rounds.

The first of these, the 'Bongo Bonus', is activated when a player lines up three consecutive bonus logos on a pay-line. Once activated, a player is whisked off to the bonus round where a selection of drums is presented. A player simply has to choose three and the numbers revealed are converted in to a coin-win! When I activated this round I selected some great drums and turned my $7.50 bet in to a lovely $134!

However, the big wins are in this game are really only awarded when the second of the bonus games is activated. A player needs to end a spin with at least 3 seed scatter symbols in view to activate a set of 10 free spins. However, every single winning spin in this round is multiplied by 3, and with the possibility of free spins being triggered mid-feature it's obvious how big the winnings could be. Again, I got pretty lucky in activating this feature early on in my session, and even though I was betting just $3.75 a spin, I came away with a massive $111.75 prize!

I also did well on some of the other games available - classic three-reelers such as Gladiator's Gold made a nice change to the all-singing, all-dancing video slots. The fact I won $150 from a $15 bet also made me smile! Of course, the really huge jackpots are to be found on the progressive machines - Major Millions often hits for close to $2m. Your luck definitely has to be in to hit these jackpots though!

Unfortunately, despite getting to $300 with my balance I actually got greedy on this occasion. I decided to try and chase some more big wins by upping my bet, but with a sudden streak of no-wins I soon found myself at zero.

One day though I hope to cash in at Music Hall Casino to test out their instant payment system! You read correctly - NETeller withdrawals are processed instantly by the cashier. That's definitely a great thing in my book.

When it comes to contacting customer support at Music Hall Casino, this is available around the clock. However, only email and live chat support is available. While this does mean that queries can be answered, and even in real-time thanks to the live-chat facility, I do think casinos should offer telephone support. Nevertheless, the support offering is definitely adequate, and the person that assisted me with my query was both knowledgeable and polite.

To sum up my experience at Music Hall Casino, I would definitely have to say it was very positive. This casino offers a great selection of games, and the time and energy that has gone in to designing these games shines through in the form of great graphics, sound effects and overall game play. The banking facility at this casino is excellent, and the instant withdrawals will be a plus for many players. Customer support does what it needs to, but I do think phone support could be added at one point. This, however, is really a minor criticism for what is overall a definitely recommended online casino.
