Vegas Joker Casino:
Vegas Joker Casino is a Microgaming-powered casino that's been running since 2002. As such, this is reasonably long-running casino in the online casino world, and so I decided to see what keeps players coming back.

While usually when reviewing I go straight into describing the gaming experience I had, this time I must firstly comment on the great number of welcome promotions that Vegas Joker offers. Firstly, the casino offers a free $10 to anybody opening an account. On top of this a 100% match up to $100 is available, and if the first deposit is an e-wallet purchase, a $20 bonus is added as well! This means that on a deposit of $100, a combined bonus of $130 can be claimed! I realize many casinos offer bonuses to entice new players, but I really do think this is something special.

As I decided to do this review on a computer with broadband connection, I opted to play on the download version of the software, which comes via a 3mb file download. While this download just installs the lobby, the small file size will appeal to those on slow connections. Of course, some people don't like downloading at all, and for these people the no-download flash version is also available. I do like a casino that covers all options!

Account creation at Vegas Joker Casino is simple, and similar to any other Microgaming-powered casino. New players simple need to fill in a standard form, select their account currency and click the register button. Incidentally, the currencies accepted at US $, UK £, Euros and Canadian $. Since many players are from the US, it was the $ currency that I opted for in creating my account.

Once logged in to the casino, players are presented with a nice menu option that breaks down the games in to different categories. Of course, no play can take place until a purchase has been made (I was too eager to wait the 24 hours for the free $10 to be added to my account!). Thankfully, purchasing is easy and with a good selection of deposit options available, I had no problem purchasing $100 with my credit card.

Being a bit of a multi-hand video poker fan I decided on this occasion to investigate the 'Power Poker' games available at Vegas Joker. These are 4-hand Video Poker games, and I have to say I was impressed with the selection presented at Vegas Joker. Of course, some people don't just want to stop at 4-hand varieties; and for these people 10, 50 and even 100-hand games are offered. However, the volatility of these games can be too much on occasion, even for gamblers like me!

Being in the mood for some 'big' hands, I decided to firstly play the Deuces Wild game. As with all multi-hand games, the player is dealt an initial hand from which they can hold any number of the five hands. Of course, if a winning hand is dealt on the initial deal these multi-hand games can pay off handsomely!

From what I experienced, I was impressed with the pace that the game played at - this will certainly be attractive to players who want to hit that Royal as soon as they can! Actually though, the speed of the game is completely user configurable. I found that many of the games at Vegas Joker offer a number of configurable options - great for players who want to get their games to feel 'just right'!

I myself did OK, and managed to hit 4 Queens on one occasion for a reasonably decent payoff. I also looked over at the single-hand Video Poker options and was again impressed with the selection. The 100-hand Double Joker game also played quite nicely for me, and on one deal I successfully turned $25 in to $83.75.

Next, I decided to have a look at the slot selection. Again, the user-friendly menu system employed by Vegas Joker Casino breaks down the slots into 3-reel, 5-reel, video slots and progressives. In trying to choose a slot to try my luck at, it quickly became apparent that Vegas Joker is a slot player's paradise - I counted over 75 slots available which is a huge number compared to many online casinos. I also noted a number of slots that seem to be exclusive to Vegas Joker, but not wanting to stray too far from the unknown, I headed over to the Fruit Fiesta Progressive. Initially my luck was not good, but I recouped my losses when two pineapples and the wild fruit fiesta symbol appeared on the top line. Deciding that I didn't want to go through another losing streak, I got out quick!

I also played the Mad Hatters game. This is one of the newer slots available, and is a video-style slot with a few decent bonus features. I did find the graphics very attractive on this game; and thought the use of a wild symbol that could spin in for all symbols on the center reel was clever. At a 300-coin max bet, I also thought this game was cleverly priced - at the 1 cent level the $3 per spin cost was perfect.

I was also able to activate the cuckoo clock bonus by lining up three of the required symbols. When this bonus round is activated, a player is prompted to select a clock to reveal a prize. I selected the highest paying clock and gladly welcomed the 2400-coin addition to my balance!

I did try out some of the other games available, but didn't really seem to have much luck. However, this didn't stop me having fun! I was particularly keen to hit the Treasure Nile progressive, which was standing at over $185,000 at the time of play, but alas, I'll have to hit it another day! As such, I decided to move on to see if my luck was to change at the Vegas Joker tables.

First, I visited the Pai-gow Poker table. I am always impressed to see some of these less popular games available, but I guess that's one of the draws of playing online. For those that are unfamiliar with the game, the aim is to make a 5-card hand and a 2-card hand out of seven cards dealt. The dealer also does the same, and if both your hands are ranked higher than the dealer's, you win. It's a game that needs some thinking about, but I thoroughly enjoy it. I also did well here, and apart from the pushed hands (of which there are a number in this game), I won all but around 4 hands. If you've never played before you should give it a go.

Finally, I moved on to the casino player's favorite - Blackjack. Vegas Joker Casino offers a variety of both single and multi-hand games. Tables are also available that follow a variety of rules, so if you want Vegas Downtown Blackjack, simply click the appropriate button and bet away!

From what I experienced, the games played as expected, but did not prove very profitable for me. In fact, in an attempt to try and get some winning hands I ended up reducing my balance back down to the $100 level. However, I guess that's what happens sometimes! With regards to betting limits, Vegas Joker accepts bets from $2 to $200 which should satisfy most players, particularly considering that up to 5-bets can be played per round at the multi-hand tables.

At this point, with my balance around exactly the point at which I had started, I headed back to the cashier to make a withdrawal. At Vegas Joker Casino, withdrawals are left 'pending' for 24 hours. However, after that cash-ins are processed quickly by the casino banking team. In this instance, around 3 business days after cashing in I had the money sent to me.

My last test; as always, was of Vegas Joker's customer support. Support is offered via email and telephone. I decided to test email support and received a helpful and courteous response within 40 minutes. Previously, I've also tested telephone support and they've been more than helpful - the use of toll-free numbers definitely makes contacting support easy. There's even a great 'call me back' feature, which means that even those who cannot use a toll free number can speak directly to a customer support representative completely free of charge.

To conclude, my play at Vegas Joker Casino was fun, and with such a huge selection of games available, I think there's probably a game for everybody here. Add to this great banking and customer support functions and it becomes clear why the casino has lasted as long as it has. For those that are looking for something new, particularly somewhere they can test a casino with the casino's money, I definitely think Vegas Joker is worth a shot.
